Removal and Installation:

1.  Pull off lip seal (arrow).
2.  Disconnect vacuum lines from main air flap actuators (43, 44).
3.  Remove screws (3).
4.  Lift up air plenum housing (2).
5.  Turn windshield heating thermovalve (7) counterclockwise (arrow) to disengage and remove.
6.  Pull out outside temperature sensor (B1O/5)
7.  Remove air plenum housing (2). 

NOTE:  The water drain lines (10) must be reinserted without kinks in order to drain.

8.  Lift out dust filter cartridge. Note that the dust filter CANNOT be cleaned, it must be replaced.

NOTE:  On vehicles equipped with active charcoal filter (CODE 306a), the dust filter is designed as an active charcoal prefilter and has on its

underside a layer of active charcoal.
Do not install the non-active charcoal dust filter (which is intended for vehicles without the active charcoal filter) in place of the active
charcoal filter.

9.  Installation is in the reverse sequence

NOTE:

On vehicles equipped with active charcoal filter (CODE 306a), the dust filter is designed as an active charcoal pre-filter and has on its underside a
layer of active charcoal.

Do not install the non-activated dust filter (which is intended for vehicles without the active charcoal filter) in place of the active charcoal filter.
