All Model 140 Vehicles, Up to June 30, 1994 Production
Speed Sensitive Power Steering (SPS) Fault Code 7 and / or ASR Fault Code 27/28
If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles of Speed Sensitive Power Steering (SPS or Parameter Steering) not functioning and possible
fault code 7 and / or ASR fault code 27/28, this may be caused due to a target distance for rear axle rpm sensor exceeding tolerance limit.
To remedy, measure the dimension "a" Figure 1 and correct as required by installing appropriate washer (shim).
Note:
Correction must be done only with one washer. Refer to parts information to determine correct washer thickness.
