Front Door Limiter: Service and Repair

Preliminary work:

Door liner on driver's door and rear door removed.

Vapor seal on interior door panel 

pull off in front area.

Seal (1) above bolt (3) 

pull off.

Retainer (2) on bolt (3) 

remove.

Bolt (3) 

remove with special tool, avoid damaging paint.

Plastic washer (4) 

remove (2 each).

Screws (5 and 6) 

screw out (3 each), when installing tighten front screw first (10 Nm).

Door retainer (7) 

remove through installation opening in interior door panel, do not damage door.

Cover (8) 

pull off of door retainer (7).

Door retainer (7) 

lubricate by coating with MB-Lubricant Paste part no. 001 989 14 51, with brush before installing ball races.

Reinstall 

in opposite order.

Vapor seal on interior door panel 

glue on, replace vapor seal if damaged.
