Idle Speed: Adjustments
1. With engine idling, remove two-pole plug from electromagnetic actuator for three seconds, then connect.
2. If idle speed increases momentarily above regulated idle speed when plug is reconnected, proceed to Step 3. If not, apply battery voltage to
electromagnetic actuator for three seconds. If voltage is applied longer than three seconds actuator damage will result. Idle speed should increase.
If not, replace electromagnetic actuator. If speed increases, operate engine at idle speed. Disconnect 2 pole plug from electromagnetic actuator and
connect multimeter and depress button "V" equals. Reading obtained should be 12 volts. If 12 volts is obtained, proceed to step 3. If 12 volts is not
obtained, check wiring, fuse and EDS control unit. Replace EDS control unit, as necessary.
3. With engine idling, remove 2 pole electrical connector from electromagnetic actuator. Idle speed should be 570 RPM. If not adjust idle speed after
loosening locknut.
