RECALLS AND SERVICE CAMPAIGNS: 

WHEN REPAIRING ANY CAR, ALWAYS CHECK THE VEHICLE MASTER INQUIRY FOR OPEN CAMPAIGNS

New Recalls:
A recall is in preparation to inspect/reroute wiring harnesses under the kickpanel in the passenger side footwell of model 124 vehicles to avoid
inadvertent airbag deployments or other malfunctions due to chafed wires. Official information is planned to be mailed out in the week of March 6.

A recall for 140 models is in preparation to deburr the ABS speed sensor mounting holes to prevent false wheel-lock signals while braking. Official
information is planned to be mailed out in the week of March 13.

M104 WITH HFM INJECTION SYSTEM

In case of customer complaints of high idle (approximately >2200 rpm) for a very short period of time (< 1 second) immediately after cold start, an
updated EA/Idle control unit is available from our PDCs. The updated control units can be identified by a software production date of "SW 43/94" and
higher stamped on the housing in the area of the barcode label. The following control unit part numbers are affected:

Battery Defect Reporting Program

Effective immediately, the battery defect reporting program introduced with MB-Net Administrative Message No. 513 dated December 13, 1994 is
cancelled. Due to the positive response from dealers, sufficient data has been collected, making the continuation of this program unnecessary. MBNA
thanks all involved for their cooperation. Please understand that testing, replacement and documentation guidelines, as described in the service literature,
have not changed. Only the battery defect reporting program is affected. To prevent unnecessary work, please ensure that all service personnel are
advised of this message.
