Valve Body: Service and Repair
Lower Cover & Intermediate Plate

REMOVAL

1.

Remove shift valve and accumulator housing, refer to SHIFT VALVE HOUSING & ACCUMULATOR HOUSING.  

2.

Remove oil filter attaching bolts and oil filter.

3.

Remove leaf spring retaining bolt, then the leaf spring and bracket.

4.

Remove lower cover, oil pipe and intermediate plate attaching bolts and washers.

5.

Push both tabs of injector together and remove injector.

6.

Remove oil pipe, then the cover plate attaching bolts.

7.

Remove cover plate with intermediate plate from lower cover.

INSTALLATION

1.

Install a new gasket onto intermediate plate.

2.

Install cover plate and intermediate plate, then the injector.

3.

Install and lower cover with oil pipe.

4.

Install bolts and washers and tighten finger tight.

5.

Position intermediate plate using two screws, then torque to specifications.

6.

Install leaf spring with bracket and torque attaching bolt to specifications. Ensure locating pin for bracket is installed correctly.

7.

Install oil filter and shift valve housing.
