REPLACEMENT OF CONVENIENCE FEATURE (CF) CONTROL MODULE (N57)

Service Campaign 95-0641 is initiated because MBAG has determined that certain components of the CF control module (N57) may fail after short term
low voltage conditions (i.e. during starting of the engine) causing the window system to lose its adjustment memory (auto-up and auto-down feature).

Effective Serial Number Range

Of approx. 4000 vehicles within the Effective Serial Number Range shown, the CF control module (N57) must be replaced during the next scheduled
maintenance or service, or in the case of customer complaints. Replace the CF control module with the Kostal unit available from the PDC's under the
part no. 140 820 00 26. Please review procedure.

Note:

Prior to performing the repairs, check the VMI, as some vehicles may have been repaired in the VPC's.

Procedure (SMS, Job No. 82-0608)

1.

Remove trunk carpet and battery cover.

2.

Open right taillamp cover and remove upper clips from right trim panel, then close right taillamp cover.

3.

Open spare wheel well and remove wrench for wheel bolts, then remove lower clips of right trim panel and remove trim panel.

4.

Locate CF control module (N57) (Figure 1) and verify part no.140 820 00 26 for Kostal unit. If not a Kostal unit, continue with step 5.

5.

Disconnect and cover battery negative terminal.

6.

Disconnect electrical connectors on CF control module, beginning with connectors C, D, E, F and then connectors A and B. Remove CF control
module.

7.

Install Kostal unit and secure.
