Refrigerant Control Solenoid Valve: Description and Operation

Since the vehicle only has one A/C compressor, the refrigerant shutoff valve for the rear refrigerant circuit has to shut off the refrigerant when the rear air
conditioning is switched off or before the evaporator in the rear air conditioning ices up.

The rear A/C refrigerant shutoff valve is controlled directly by the rear A/C pushbutton control module and shuts off the rear refrigerant circuit under the
following conditions:

The rear air conditioning is switched off by turning the blower selector to the catch position

Signal from rear air conditioning evaporator temperature sensor to rear A/C pushbutton control module (evaporator iced up)
