Idler Arm: Adjustments
NOTE: Numbers in parentheses ( ) indicate a component or tool in the associated illustration.
ADJUSTMENT
Adjust ball point position by moving the steering idler arm (26) on the bearing tube.
If the ball point position cannot be adjusted at the steering idler arm, a correction to the ball point position can be made at the pitman arm by
offsetting (a) on the splined section of the pitman arm shaft.
On vehicles involved in accidents or suspected of being involved in accidents. ensure basic setting dimension between the bearing tube and
steering idler arm.
If the ball point position is more than 5 mm outside the tolerance, check the steering idler arm bearing.
