Automatic diverter flap control
The diverter flaps are controlled separately on the left and right. The diverter flaps open beginning at an outdoor temperature > 20 °C.
If the temperature difference between the temperature measured by the in-car temperature sensor and, that set on the pushbutton control module is within
the adjustment range of +1 to +6°C, the diverter flap depend linearly from 0 - 100%
Diverter flap control via the center nozzle
In the manual mode the diverter flap positions can be set with the three selection, dials on the center nozzle.
Vacuum Element For Footwell Flap
Purpose
The footwell flap actuator motors actuate the footwell flaps for control of the air flow to the front and rear footwells.
Function
The footwell flap actuator motors are controlled via the A/C bus and electronic stepping motor control module by turning the air distribution knob on the
automatic A/C pushbutton control module. The footwell flap actuator motors thereby control the footwell flaps which can assume the following positions
depending on the settings
Circuit logic:
-
Footwell and rear footwell closed = 50%
-
Footwell completely open and rear footwell closed = 100%
(vehicles with rear air conditioning)
-
Footwell and rear footwell completely open = 0%
(vehicles without rear air conditioning)
Control for "DEFROST" 50%
Control for "REST"
depending on exit temperature
Control for "O"
500%.
Control for "AUTO"
depending on exit temperature
Footwell flap actuator motor control via automatic A/C pushbutton control module without rear air conditioning
(air distribution switch position indicated by hour hand position on 12 hour clock)
Footwell flap actuator motor control via automatic A/C pushbutton control module with rear air conditioning (air distribution switch position indicated
by hour hand position on 12 hour clock)
Vacuum Element For Recirculated Air Flap
The fresh air/recirculated air flap actuator motor serves for shutting off or opening the fresh air supply as required by actuating the fresh air/recirculated
air flap
