Power Seat Control Module: Description and Operation
Right Front Seat, With Memory

Purpose

Purpose

The right front seat occupied signal is sensed by the right front seat adjustment control module with memory and transmitted via the interior passenger
compartment bus (CAN B) to the automatic A/C push-button control module.

This information causes the automatic A/C push-button control module to increase the automatic blower speed for ventilation depending on the number
of passengers in the vehicle.

Moreover, the blower setting on the automatic A/C push-button control module is read in by the right front seat adjustment control module with memory
for adaptation of the seat ventilation by actuating the fans built into the seat.

Function

The right front seat adjustment control module with memory (N32/2) connected to the CAN bus is responsible for the following functions:

Control of the six DC servo-motors in the seat adjustment motor group with memory (M28)

-

Recognition of the positions of these motors

-

Storage of the seat position with the memory function

-

Calling up and moving to previously stored seat positions within the scope of the memory function

-

Moving to permanently stored seat positions depending on the longitudinal position of the seat within the scope of the ergonomic feature

-

Control of the heated seat/seat ventilation (special equipment)

-

Control of the seatbelt automatic wear comfort feature

-

Monitoring of the backrest locking function with the right front seat backrest release microswitch (S92/3, model 215 only)

The control module also serves for connecting the:

Right front seatbelt buckle switch with AB and ETR (S68/4, (USA) only)

-

Right front seatbelt buckle and seatbelt wear convenience switch (S68/10)

-

Passenger seat occupied and child seat recognition sensor (B48, vehicles with left-hand steering only)

Right front multicontour backrest control module (N32/16, special equipment)

-

Vehicle sensitive seatbelt lock sensor (A60, model 215 only)

Right front seat backrest microswitch (S92/1, model 215 only)
