Ride Height Sensor: Service and Repair
AR82.10-P-0004I Remove/Install Front Axle Level Sensors

Remove/install front axle level sensors

Shown On Model 220 AIRmatic

CAUTION:  Replace self-locking nuts and bolts

Remove front wheels
-

Vehicles with AIRmatic (Code 489a)

Disconnect connectors at front left and right level sensors (B22/8, B22/9)

Unscrew nut (86c) on connecting rod (86) from front left and right level sensors (B22/8, B22/9)
-

Nut, connecting rod to level sensor: 5 Nm

Unscrew nut (86b) on connecting rod (86) from upper wishbone (6) and remove connecting rod (86)

Vehicles with AIRmatic (Code 489a)

NOTE:  Installation: Attach connecting rod (86) to the outermost hole (f) on the upper wishbone (6)

Nut, level sensor connecting rod to upper wishbone: 10 Nm

Unscrew bolts (86d) on retaining plate (86a) and remove front left and right level sensors (B22/8, B22/9)
-

Bolt/nut of level sensor to retaining plate: 4 Nm

Install in the reverse order

After replacing the level sensors, calibrate vehicle level with Star Diagnosis (level calibration).
