POWER STEERING DAMPER HYDRAULIC LINE FITTINGS LEAKING
This campaign has been initiated because it has been determined that under certain operating conditions the power steering damper hydraulic line fittings
(1 [lower], 2 [upper], Figure 1) may leak.
Effective Serial Number Range
Prior to performing this campaign, the vehicles listed within the chassis end number list shown, must be inspected for possible leaks from the power
steering damper line fittings. If either one of the power steering damper line fittings (1 [lower], 2 [upper], Figure 1) are found to be leaking, the complete
power steering rack and pinion assembly must be replaced (see procedure).
Should the power steering damper line fittings be found to be without any leakage, please assure the torque on the power steering damper line fittings (1
[lower], 2 [upper], Figure 1) remain in factory specification by carefully following the procedure.
Prior to performing this Service Campaign, please check VMI to insure the vehicle is involved and to determine if the vehicle has been previously
repaired.
PROCEDURE
1.
Drive affected vehicle onto lift and raise vehicle.
2.
Remove center section of the lower noise encapsulation cover (see WIS doc.: AR61.20-P-1105M).
3.
Carefully inspect the power steering damper line fittings (1 [lower], 2 [upper], Figure 1) for any fluid leakage. Should any fluid leakage be found,
