Propeller Shaft - Checking Flexible Couplings For Damage And Deformation

DANGER:

Risk of fatal accident if the vehicle slips off the lifting platform

-

Align vehicle between the columns of the lifting platform and position the four support plates at the lifting platform support points
specified by the vehicle manufacturer.

Lift vehicle with lifting platform

Check flexible couplings and vibration damper for wear, damage and deformation

NOTE:  Visual inspection, if necessary: Replace flexible coupling or vibration damper as a separate repair order.

Check spacers of flexible coupling in vicinity of fitted sleeves for cracks and permanent deformation

NOTE:
-

Vehicles with flexible couplings (absorbing acceleration/deceleration) mounted at the transmission end.

-

Visual inspection, if necessary: Replace flexible coupling as a separate repair order.

Check spacers of vibration damper for crack

NOTE:  Visual inspection, if necessary: Replace vibration damper as a separate repair order.
