Remote Trunk Closing Nonfunctional

If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles of the remote trunk closing system not functioning in the following two scenanos, refer to the
associated remedy to resolve.

Condition 1: 

Remote trunk opening is activated with the vehicle RF key after an extended period of non activity (greater then 6 hours) and trunk lid unlocks, but
does not automatically rise to the preset open position.

Solution 1:

1.

Flash the Trunk Lid Control unit (TLC) to a software version of 27/05 or later using STAR Diagnosis version 11/05 or later.

2.

To program, navigate to the following STAR Diagnosis menu: Control Units --> Seats and Doors --> TLC --> Control Unit Adaptations -->
Control Module Programming. Follow on screen instructions.

Note:

Ensure that a battery charger is attached to the on-board electrical systems battery during flashing. Refer to WIS document
AR54.10-P-1130SX for more detail.

Condition 2: 

Trunk lid can not be opened or closed by actuating remote trunk closing. Fault Code 9201 [Component M51 (TLC hydraulic pump) or line to
component has short circuit] is stored in fault memory.

Solution 2:

1.

Complete Guided Test steps for checking "Check Component M51", by navigating to the following STAR Diagnosis menu: Control Units -->
Seats and Doors --> TLC --> Complete List of Guided Tests --> Check Component M51.

2.

If the test results show that the measured value is NOT OK, replace the Trunk Lid Control unit (TLC) as per WIS document AR88.50-P-5300SX.

3.

If the test results show that the measured value is OK, replace the TLC Hydraulic pump as per WIS document AR88.50-P-5070SX
