MODEL 221, MODEL YEAR 2007

INSTALL SEAT CONTROL UNIT SOFTWARE

This service campaign has been initiated because DCAG has determined that on the affected vehicles (see VIN range below) the seat control unit may
lose its memory. Dealer will install updated software.

Please review the Effective Serial Number chart located on the following page, and if necessary, repair the subject vehicles during the vehicle's next
service.

Prior to performing this Service Campaign:

-

Please check VMI to insure the vehicle is involved and to determine if the vehicle has been previously repaired.

-

Please review the entire Service Campaign bulletin.

Approximately 4,662 vehicles are affected.

Effective Serial Number Range

NOTE:  

Every vehicle in the VIN range may not be included in the campaign. VMI must always be checked before performing campaigns to verify that the
campaign is required on a specific vehicle. VMI always overrides the bulletin in reference to a specific vehicle's inclusion in a particular campaign.
Please also note that Recall and Service Campaigns do not expire and may also be performed on a vehicle with a vehicle status indicator.

Procedure

Prior to starting procedure ensure to:

-

Use DAS version 7/2006 or later

-

Connect battery charger

-

Follow the order of steps exactly as outlined below

1.

Connect Star Diagnosis.

2.

Install seat control unit software.

-

Navigate through the following DAS menu path: "Control units/ Seats and doors."

-

Select the appropriate seat control unit, then press ‘F2' to acknowledge "Normalization" message if it appears.

-

Navigate through the following DAS menu path: "Control unit adaptations/ Control module programming/ Hard disk."

NOTE:

-

Perform the above procedure on all required seat control units.

If normalization is not automatically performed by DAS, perform it on all required seat control units by selecting "Control unit adaptations/
Normalization of all seat adjustment motors" through the DAS menu, then selecting 'F5' to start the process.

3.

Verify that coding has been carried out by accessing "Control unit adaptations/ Read coding and change if necessary."

4.

Disconnect Star Diagnosis.
