Complaint:
Squeaking/creaking noises from the area of the seat adjuster.
Cause:
Insufficient lubrication and/or chafing of wire frame in seat cushion.
Attachments
Remedy:
Perform the following steps in sequence.
A) Grease seat rails.
B) Grease rear seat cushion guide:
1. Set seat cushion fore/aft adjustment to forwardmost position.
2. Push away seat cushion on tunnel side (see Figure 5796).
3. Lubricate plastic slider with grease spray A 000 989 35 60 (See Figure 5799).
4. Also regrease slider on door side.
C) Grease front seat cushion guide:
1. Detach left and right side trim as per WIS document AR91.10-P-1200SX.
2. Set seat cushion fore/aft adjustment to forwardmost position.
3. Lubricate both plastic guides with grease A 002 989 07 51. (See Figures 5790 & 5791)
4. Spray grease spray A 000 989 35 60 under the plastic sliders. (See Figures 5794 & 5793)
D) If there are still noises in the area of the seat cushion, they may be caused by the foam-covered wire frame rubbing on the cushion shell.
For this work use damage code 91A03 22 (left) or 91N03 22 (right).
1. Remove seat cushion (AR91.10-p-3310sx)
