Condenser HVAC: Description and Operation
GF83.40-P-2188SX Condenser, Component Description
Component Identification
Location
The condenser is located behind the radiator grille, immediately in front of the radiator.
Task
The condenser ensures that the refrigerant compressed by the refrigerant compressor (A9) changes state from gas to liquid.
Function
The hot refrigerant compressed by the refrigerant compressor flows into the condenser from above. Coiled pipes and lamellae absorb this heat extremely
rapidly and give it off into the outside air.
This in turn cools the refrigerant. While it is cooling down to a specific, pressure-sensitive temperature, the refrigerant condenses and is liquefied. The
liquid refrigerant exits at the bottom of the condenser and flows into the fluid reservoir.
