Message in Instrument Cluster "Battery - Service Required"

If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles with the following symptoms, this may be due to the software in the Vehicle Power Supply
control module (BNS).

"Battery - Service Required" illuminated in red in the instrument cluster multifunction display

Fault code 901B, Component Internal charge transformer does not switch off", or fault code 901D, Component internal charge transformer fails to
switch on," stored in the BNS

Note:

If this message occurs in the instrument cluster display, it is for informational purposes only and does not impair the on-board electrical system.

To remedy, please flash the BNS via Star Diagnosis menu path: Control units --> Body --> BNS - Vehicle power supply module --> Control unit
adaptations --> Control module programming.

Replacement of the control unit is not necessary
