Longitudinal (In or Out) Adjustment of Electrical Steering Column Nonfunctional

If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles having any of the conditions below, the cause may be that the end positions of the actuator
motor M20/1 are not taught in or cannot be taught in with current DAS. To resolve, perform normalization with DAS using DVD update 09/2006.

Adjustable steering column cannot be moved in or out

-

Fault code 9001 (function of component M20/1 (steering column in/out motor) is not  OK ) is noted in the driver signal acquisition and actuation
module (SAMF221)

Actual values of the driver SAM control unit (in the control unit group  body ) actuations   steering column adjustment the entry  NOT
NORMALIZED  appears in the first line on M20/1 (steering column in/out motor)

Defective actuator motor is identified in the DAS quick test

NOTE: 

Do not replace any actuator motor without first checking whether the normalization in the driver signal acquisition and actuation module (SAM-F)
can be reset per DAS DVD version 09/2006.
