Heater Control Valve: Description and Operation
Rear Duovalve (Models W/Rear A/C)

The duovalves regulate the coolant flow quantity through the rear heater core separately for the left and right sides.

The duovalves for the rear air conditioning are controlled directly by the rear air conditioning pushbutton control module and control the coolant flow
through the rear heater core separately for the left and right side.
The closing and opening times of the duovalves per cycle depend on the temperature setting.

Control principle

The electromagnetic coils in the duovalves are controlled digitally by the rear air conditioning pushbutton control module. This allows the hot water
quantity flowing through the rear heater core to be controlled separately for the left and right side. The duovalves are open when not under power.
