Activate the service mode in the TELE AID emergency call system

NOTE:  only with code 347, 855.

DANGER:
-

Risk of explosion from explosive gas. Risk of poisoning and caustic burns from swallowing battery electrolyte. Risk of injury through
burns to skin and eyes from battery acid or when handling damaged lead-acid batteries

-

No fire, sparks, naked flames or smoking.

-

Wear protective gloves, acid-resistant clothing and safety glasses. Pour battery electrolyte only into suitable and appropriately
marked containers.

Disconnect ground cable of battery

NOTE:
-

Turn key in electronic ignition switch EIS into position "0". Key cannot be withdrawn.

-

Vehicle fitted with code (889) Keyless-GO:
Switch off engine, remove Keyless Go cards from the vehicle and keep outside the range of the transmitter.

-

Installation:  Read out fault memory after connecting, adjust time display on combination instrument, code radio, normalize power window
and activate steering angle sensor.

-

Vehicles with stationary heater, adjust time display on stationary heater.

Remove engine compartment paneling

DANGER:
-

Risk of injury to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolant spray. Risk of poisoning from swallowing coolant.

-

Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 degrees C.

-

Open cap slowly and release the pressure.

-

Do not pour coolant into beverage bottles.

-

Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and eye protection.

Drain coolant at radiator

Remove engine cover and air cleaner

NOTE:  Unclip cover of engine end face.

Remove fan shroud or electric fan

Attach guard plate for radiator/condenser

Remove poly V-belt of supercharger

Remove poly V-belt

Remove cylinder head covers with ignition coils (3)

Remove coolant line (circulation pump -> coolant pump) (14) and coolant line (radiator -> coolant pump) (15)

Remove coolant line (radiator-> thermostat housing) (13)

Unscrew AC compressor (7)

NOTE:  Place to the side with lines connected.

Remove generator (5)

Unscrew bracket of automatic transmission oil lines (19)

Remove bottom part of oil pan (6)

Remove oil pan top section (18)

Remove poly V-belt tensioning device of compressor (21)

NOTE:
-

Installation:   On a new timing case cover, the threads for fastening the tensioning device of the compressor are not tapped. For this reason, on
a new timing case cover new self-tapping bolts must be used for fastening.

-

observe tightening torque if the threads are not pre-tapped.

Remove poly V-belt tensioning device (2)

Remove vibration damper (1)

Remove chain tensioner (11)

Remove oil filter housing with oil-water heat exchanger(4)

Unscrew power steering pump (8) with reservoir
