Refrigerant Control Solenoid Valve: Service and Repair

AR83.50-P-9000M Remove/Install Rear Air Conditioning Refrigerant Shutoff Valve

- with CODE (582) Rear air conditioning

DANGER:

-

Explosion hazard when performing welding or brazing work on closed air conditioning. Poisoning hazard from inhaling overheated 
refrigerant vapors. Injury hazard from skin and eye contact with liquid refrigerant.

Do not perform any type of welding work on closed air conditioning system or in its vicinity. Smoking and open flame prohibited.

Wear protective goggles and protective gloves, work only in well-ventilated rooms. Perform repair work on air conditioning circuit only
with system emptied.

CAUTION:  Protect air conditioning circuit and components from moisture during repair work.

Empty air conditioning (recycle), evacuate, charge, check for leaks

CAUTION:  Add quantity of compressor oil removed to refrigerant circuit when charging air conditioning (new oil).

Remove left front wheel

Remove left front inner fender

Unscrew plastic nut (1)

Unscrew 2 union nuts (2)

CAUTION:  Close openings (parts kit).

NOTE:  Installation:
1. Renew O-rings
2. Moisten thread with compressor oil.

Union nut for rear air conditioning shutoff valve:  17 N.m

Unscrew 4 plastic nuts (3)

Remove undercarriage paneling (4)

Carefully pull line (5) out of grommet and disconnect rear refrigerant shutoff valve connector (Y67x1)

Remove rear refrigerant shutoff valve (Y67)

Replace receiver/drier

Install in opposite order.
