AN31.19-P-8100-06MN Perform Function Test Of Light Signals At The Trailer Hitch Socket

Check the function of the lighting signals at the 13-pin trailer hitch socket (X58), for example, with a lighting bar (1).

1. Check left and right direction indicator lamp.
2. Simulate the failure of the left or right direction indicator lamp.

The flashing frequency of the indicator lamp in the instrument cluster must double.

3. Check hazard warning system.
4. Check standing lamp.
5. Check backup lamps.
6. Check stop lamp.
7. Check rear fog lamp on trailer.

The rear fog lamp on the vehicle must not come on.

8. Simulate failure of the rear fog lamp on the trailer.

The rear fog lamp on the vehicle must light up.

9. Assign fuse plug position (55) in the rear fuse box (F4) with a 30 A fuse.

10. Check continuous voltage connection (circuit 30) at the 13-pin trailer hitch socket (X58) for voltage.
11. Remove 30 A fuse from fuse plug position (55) in the rear fuse box (F4).
