Flag the wire coming from pin # 1 (A, Figure 10) of the connector with a piece of masking tape (A, Figure 11) to identify it as the ground wire.

Note:

Use pin # 1 of the connector for ground.

Wrap the wires with electrical tape (B, Figure 11) starting approximately ten inches from the connector (C, Figure 11).

Cut off the pins (D, Figure 11) from the two wires.

Strip off 1/4 inch insulation from the wire ends cut in step 8 (D, Figure 11).

Secure with two wire ties (Arrows, Figure 12) the newly-made wiring harness to the wiring harness running along the trunk lid area exposed by the
