Wiper Motor: Removal and Replacement

AR82.30-P-6800M Remove/Install Wiper Motor

Illustrated On Model 220

Removing

DANGER:
-

Injury hazard Windshield wiper mechanism can pinch, crush or, in extreme cases, even sever extremities.

-

Always remote ignition key when working on windshield wiper mechanism.

Open engine hood, raise to vertical position

Remove wiper system

Unscrew nut (1) from wiper motor shaft

Press crank arm (2) off with wiper linkage

Unclip connector on bracket (4)

Unscrew screws on wiper motor (3)

Remove wiper motor (M6/1)

Installing

Move wiper motor (M6/1) to parking position

Insert wiper motor (M6/1)

Screw in screws in wiper motor (3)

Screw on wiper motor mounting:  9 Nm

Clip connector on bracket (4)

Align crank arm (2) to upper rib of wiper motor mount at angle (A)

Dimension:  Angle "A" between crank arm and rib:  74 degrees

Rotate nut on wiper motor shaft (1)
-

Nut on wiper motor shaft:  19 Nm

Install wiper system

Close engine hood

Check windshield wiper for proper functioning.
