Body - Squeaking Noise From Doors When Closing

Door(s) Makes a Squeaking Noise When the Closing Assist Pulls Door Shut

If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles regarding the door(s) making a squeaking noise when the closing assist pulls the door shut at
an ambient temperature above 77 degree F (25 degree C), this may be due to insufficient grease for the materials used in the closing assist system. To
resolve, perform the following.

1.

Mark spray tube as shown (Figure 1).

2.

Open doors and move the door lock rotary tumbler by hand to the end position.

3.

Insert spray tube into the door lock up to the mark so the mark is even with the door lock shell radius (Figure 2).

4.

Spray the lock cylinder grease for 1 to 3 seconds.

5.

Open door lock using interior door handle.

6.

Close doors.

NOTE:  

This repair is non-time claimable under Group 72.
