Component Identification

Location

The front roller sun blind motor is located below the right headliner on the front roof frame.

Task

The front roller sun blind motor opens and closes the front roller sun blind in the area of the panoramic sliding roof.

Design

The front roller sun blind motor consists of:

Hall sensor 1, front roller sun blind (M54b1),

Hall sensor 2, front roller sun blind (M54b2),

front roller sun blind motor (M54m1),

^

transfer case,

^

thermal protection switch

Manually opening/closing function for front roller sun blind

When the panoramic sliding roof is closed and the roof switch (N70s1) is actuated, the front roller sun blind motor is actuated until the desired position
or the limit stop of the roller sun blind is reached.

Automatic opening function for front roller sun blind

When the roof switch is actuated toward rear beyond the 1st catch and the panoramic sliding roof is closed, the front roller sun blind motor is actuated
until the limit stop of the roller sun blind is reached.
The function is stopped when the switch is actuated again.
