6. Mask off surface zone of upper glass layer on windshield (1) with adhesive tape (2) and carefully break by tapping with hammer.
7. Remove broken surface zone of upper glass layer by pulling off adhesive tape (2). Break out any glass splinters remaining and suction off.

8. Cut through second adhesive bead (support bead) on side of A-pillars and at top, at front edge of roof.

9. Position cup suction tool in upper third of windshield (1) and lift windshield (1) away from body flange.

Aid of helper required for guiding windshield (1), otherwise adjacent body parts could be damaged.

Detach windshield (1) from body flange in upper area first, then pry out upward.

Repair Materials

The gluing area on the window must be absolutely free of dust and grease to prevent paint adhesion problem of the adhesive material when glazing.

1. Check window for scratches and damage, replace if necessary.
2.1 Cut off residual adhesive material of window with scraper down to a height of approx. 2 mm. Remove residual adhesive material.

When reinstalling removed window.

2.2 Clean gluing area on window using cleaner in 1-component repair kit and rub dry with rag.

When installing a new window.

3.1 Repair damaged primer coat on window with primer included in 1-component repair kit.

When reinstalling removed window.

3.2 Coat gluing area on window with primer included in 1- component repair kit (max. width 20 mm).
