Sunroof / Moonroof Motor: Service and Repair
Control Cable Cannot Be Removed

Mount with Motor and Gear Unit, Removal and Installation:

Remove panelling in trunk, left.

-

Press plastic cap (Fig. 1) off.

-

Unscrew screws, hex. nut and pull off plug connection (Fig.2).

-

Turn mount with motor and gear unit, unscrew screws on gear unit cover and remove cover (Fig. 3).

Open gear unit cover (Fig. 4). For this purpose unclip retaining clip or tube and remove gear.

-

Pull control cable out of tube toward front and unclip both tubes on gear unit.

-

Remove mount together with motor and gear unit.

-

Assemble gear unit.

NOTE:  Clean gear unit housing and lubricate gear with MB-lubricant Paste, part no. 001 989 14 51.

Reinstall in opposite order.

CAUTION:  When clipping in the two tubes ensure that the bead on the tube is pushed into the groove on the gear unit.
