Replacing Rivet Nuts In Exhaust Manifold

Use a suitable boil (arrow) to knock rivet nuts out of the holes in the exhaust manifold.

NOTE:  Screw in boil by hand only

Insert new rivet nut into hole of the exhaust manifold.

Screw in caulking boil and tighten to about 30 Nm.

Since October 1992 the 4-6 and 10-12 cylinder exhaust manifolds have been provided with an air gap insulation between the outer and inner pipe as a
phased-in measure.The previous insulation is discontinued.
