Wheel Bearing: Service and Repair
Rear

With Hydraulic Puller

CAUTION:  This operation will distroy the two row angular ball bearing

NOTE:  The wheel carrier is not removed:

REMOVAL

1. Remove the rear axle shaft, refer to Axle Shaft Assembly, Constant Velocity Type
2. Remove parking brake shoes, refer to Brakes and Traction Control
3. Remove the axle shaft flange as follows:

a. Insert threaded bolt (010j) part 03 through rear axle shaft flange (10) from inside and screw on collar (010g)
b. Install support plate (010d) on the end face of the wheel carrier
c. Guide thrust washer (010f) with pressure pin (010b) through the collar and mount on support plate
d. Locate auxiliary press (010h) and collar (010g)

Screw in hexagon bolt (010i) of collar until it abuts the pressure cylinder of the auxiliary hydraulic press

NOTE:  Ensure thrust bolt (010k) is fully unscrewed before starting
