Set orientation adjustment on sides of CD changer to vertical (V). Secure with adhesive covers.

Fasten "L" brackets of CD changer using 2 screws diagonally opposed on each bracket. The top "ears" face outward away from the changer sides.

4.

Remove first aid kit, trunk floor mat, left wheel well liner and taillamp assembly.

5.

Route pre-wire harness along wheel well. Secure with cable ties.

6.

Remove protective caps from studs in wheel well. Trim fibers away from 2 speed clips located on the vertical rise of trunk floor near the top.

Note:

If a Mercedes-Benz cellular telephone is to be installed, the trunk mounted components should be fastened to the CD changer bracket at this time.
Refer to Work Instructions (345, Grp. 82.)

7.

Reinstall wheel well liner and taillamp assembly.

8.

Set bracket into wheel well. Fasten to studs using 2 M5 nuts. Fasten to vertical rise of trunk floor using 2 sheet metal screws.

9.

Connect vehicle bus cable to CD changer.

10.

Slide CD changer unit into bracket. Secure with 4 M5 x 10 bolts.

Note:

Ensure that orientation adjustments on sides of CD changer are set to vertical (V).

11.

Install CD changer cover.

12.

Reinstall trunk floor mat.

13.

Install CD magazine in to CD changer unit.

14.

Test function.

15.

Relocate first aid kit to storage compartment behind passenger seat.
