Receiver Dryer: Service and Repair

Air conditioner

Drain (recycling).

Headlamp 

Remove.

Plug (B12)

Disconnect from refrigerant pressure transmitter (B12) and pull out retaining spring until it engages.

Lines on receiver dehydrator 

Disconnect and seal off opening (parts set 140 830 01 27), tighten to 17 ± 3 Nm.

Both screws (arrows)

Unscrew.

Receiver dehydrator

Remove.

Retaining strap with flaps

Release and remove.

Install  

In reverse sequence, lubricating the thread for the hose line with compressor oil (Note whether this should be R12 or R134a). If the receiver
dehydrator has been renewed, fill the system with approx. 10 cubic cm compressor oil (note whether R12 or R134a).

Air conditioner

Evacuate, refill, check function and check for leaks; run engine at idle speed only in the first 4 minutes.

NOTE:  A new receiver dehydrator should always be installed in the event of air conditioner malfunctions due to leakage, soiling or icing, or
whenever the refrigerant compressor is repaired or replaced.

NOTE:  After completing the work: Erase fault memory in the control unit.
