Solar Sensor: Description and Operation

The sun sensor (B32) in combination with the newly installed AAC pushbutton control module provides for more precise control of the temperature.
The sun sensor (B32) transfers the values measured for the sun intensity to the AAC pushbutton control module which regulates the blower speed and/or
the cooling capacity.

Purpose

The sun sensor measures the intensity of the sun radiation.

Function

The sun sensor transfers the value measured for the sun intensity to the A/C pushbutton control module. The A/C pushbutton control module uses this
information as a basis for controlling the blower speed and thereby increasing the cooling capacity depending on the intensity of the sun.

The sun sensor increases the blower speed slightly above 5 °C and decreases it slightly below 5 °C and has an effect on the passenger compartment
temperature control beginning at an outdoor temperature of approx. 19 °Cdepending on the intensity of the sun.
