Ignition coil cylinders 1 to 12
Each spark plug is actuated separately by the ME-SFI control module through its own ignition coil.
The ME control module (N3/10) actuates the primary windings (L1) of the ignition coils (T1/1 to T1/12) at circuit 1 with ground.
The primary current flow is interrupted at the moment of the ignition timing point. As a result of the sudden collapse of the magnetic field the ignition
voltage is generated in the secondary windings (L2). The ignition voltage flows through the high voltage connection andthrough spark plug connector to
the spark plug (R4).
The voltage supply of the ignition coils is protected at circuit 15.
Model 129, 210 as of 9/95
Model 140 as of 6/96
Diodes are integrated to suppress additional igniton sparks when the primary current is switched on. Because of the diodes, it is not possible to measure
the resistance in the secondary winding
