Air Bag Control Module: Removal and Replacement

1. Turn ignition key to "0" position.
2. Unclamp and cover Negative battery terminal.
3. Remove Radio [1].
4. Remove ashtray housing.
5. Loosen screw on wooden surround of ashtray.
6. Remove wooden surround [3] in upward direction.
7. Unscrew SW4 screws [4] on cover [5].
8. Push cover [5] to the rear and remove in upward direction (arrow).
9. Detach plug connectors on switches. 

10. Remove screws [6, 7] on cover [8].
11. Remove cover [8] in direction of arrow.
12. Detach plug connectors on switches.
13. Detach plug connector on airbag and/or seat belt tensioner control device [N2/2 and/or N2/1].
14. Unscrew Torx screws (2 pcs).
15. Remove control device [N2/2].
16. Install in reverse sequence.

As of MY 1994, the control module must be programmed and have parameters set using the HHT after replacement.
