Steering Arm: Service and Repair

NOTE:  Numbers in parentheses ( ) indicate a component or tool in the associated illustration.

REMOVAL 

-

Using puller (050) tool No 140 589 00 33 00 and thrust piece (51) tool No. 140 589 00 63 00, or equivalents, remove track rod ball joint from 
steering knuckle arm (29).
-

Check rubber boot and ball joint

-

Remove steering knuckle arm mounting bolts (29b), then steering arm (29)

INSTALLATION 

-

Install in reverse order, noting the following:
-

Check front axle toe-in

-

Tighten bolt, steering knuckle arm on steering knuckle to: 80 Nm

Tighten self-locking nut of track rod on steering arm to: 50 Nm
