Use a heat gun on high setting to melt the solder and glue over the wire ends.

Wrap the ground wires and solder splice with electrical tape (A, Figure 16).

Secure with a wire tie the tape-wrapped solder splice and ground wires to the anchoring point (A, Figure 14) from where it was previously secured.

Unravel the tape (C, Figure 14) from the wiring harness for the emergency release switch for the trunk lid.

24.

Find the brown/green wire coming from pin # 3 of the connector for the emergency release switch for the trunk lid.

25.

Separate the brown/green wire from the rest of the wires in the wiring harness.

26.

Cut the brown/green wire approximately eight inches from the connector for the emergency switch for the trunk lid.

27.

Strip off 1/4 inch of insulation from both ends of the brown/green wire cut in step 26.

28.

Solder spice (B, Figure 15) the stripped ends of the brown/green wire together with the stripped end of the white wire (B, Figure 12) coming from
pin # 2 of the connector of the newly-made wiring harness.

Twist the solder splice onto the wire ends.

Use a heat gun on high setting to melt the solder and glue over the wire ends.

Wrap the wiring harness for the emergency release switch for the trunk lid together with the solder splice with electrical tape.

30.

Reconnect the power supply connector (B, Figure 2) to the emergency release switch for the trunk lid in the trunk lid paneling.
