Trunk / Liftgate Lock: Service and Repair

AN88.50-P-0001-01M Installing Trunk Lid Auxiliary Lock

1. Lock trunk lid lock (1).
2. Press shift rod (5) into center shift rod (1a) of trunk lid lock (1).
3. Press shift rod (5) into auxiliary lock (3) (see magnified section).
4. Insert auxiliary lock (3) into recess and fasten with two screws (3a).

Position auxiliary lock on bottom edge of recess and center (see arrow).

5. Check recess in locking bracket (2) for correct dimensions according to figure, if necessary remachine symmetrically around center axis.
6. Press in clip nuts, insert locking bracket (2) into recess of rear center section and fasten with two screws (2a).

Align locking bracket (2) against screws (2a) upward and center (see arrow).
