Front Steering Knuckle: Testing and Inspection

Measuring Steering Knuckle (removed)

Shows Steering Knuckle, Left

Remove

Remove steering knuckle

Measuring

Place steering knuckle with installed wheel hub or brake disc on parallel supports

NOTE:  Use four pieces

Scan the height dimension "A" as comparison dimension using a height measuring gage and note
-

Measure at the flat surface of the brake caliper fixing.

Measure and note height dimension "B1-B3" at the lowest point of the respective bore

NOTE:
-

The test values are derived from the difference between height dimension "A" and height dimensions.

"B1"= Bearing of supporting joint

-

"B2"= Bearing of upper control arm

-

"B3"= Bearing of steering knuckle arm/track rod

Install

Install steering knuckle.
