Shift Linkage: Service and Repair

Remove/install and set shift rod

Remove

Danger:

-

Lethal injuries are possible if vehicle slips off of lifting platform

-

Align vehicle between the columns of the lifting platform and position the four support plates at the lifting platform support points
specified by the vehicle manufacturer.

NOTE:

-

The vehicle must be horizontal

-

Park vehicle on two or four-column lift platform.

Move selector lever to position "D".

2.1 Remove shield

Models 215, 220

2.2 Remove cover from shield

-

Model 240

Unclip locking plates (1)

NOTE:  Use a screwdriver to release plates.

Detach rod head (98) from intermediate lever (97)

Detach shift rod (63) at range selector lever (33)

NOTE:  For detaching, move range selector lever (33) to position "R".

Remove shift rod (63) together with rod head (98)

Setting, installing

Unscrew locking bolt (2) at rod head (98)

NOTE:  Use a suitable tool to make slot at locking bolt.

Slacken grub screw (99)

Attach shift rod (63) to range selector lever (33)

Move range selector lever (33) to position "D"
