Separate front propeller shaft (1) and rear propeller shaft (2) at the slide connection

NOTE:  Installation:  Assemble propeller shaft Coat splined profile with Molykote grease.

Inspect

Check centering sleeve (10) in front propeller shaft (1) and rear propeller shaft (2)

NOTE:  If sealing lip in centering sleeve (10) is worn or damaged, the centering sleeve (10) can be replaced separately.

Remove centering sleeve (10)

If necessary, after inspecting.

NOTE:  Installation:  Press in centering sleeve

Fill cavities of both centering sleeves with grease

Install in the reverse order.

Remove/install

CAUTION:  See notes on self-locking nuts and bolts

DANGER:

Risk of death. Death may result if vehicle slips or topples from the lifting platform.

Align vehicle between the columns of the lifting platform and position the four support plates at the lifting platform support points
specified by the vehicle manufacturer.

Raise vehicle.

Remove exhaust system as of flange connection

Detach reinforcement brace (35)

NOTE:  With model 220.074/174 spacers are below the reinforcement brace.

Detach front exhaust shielding plate (105k) from exhaust shielding plate above center muffler (105e)

NOTE:  Installation:  Install new sheet metal screws and sheet metal nuts.
