Component Identification

The gluing area on the window must be absolutely free of dust and grease to prevent paint adhesion problem of the adhesive when glazing.

Replacement parts for windshields are generally delivered with a viewing window (1) at the bottom left. If the viewing window (1) is not required,
always coat this area at the inside of the window with primer from repair kit before installing window.

Do not apply primer, e.g. from repair kit, to adjustment marks for windshield wipers (2) and sight ray slots (3) in the lower area of screen print.

On vehicles with present ground connections (6, 7) or optional ground connections (4, 5) between the rear window and the body, do not coat cutouts
(arrows) with primer, e.g. from repair kit.

1. Check window for scratches and damage, replace if necessary.
2.1 Cut off residual adhesive on window with scraper down to a height of approx. 2 mm. Remove glue residues.

Only when using previously installed window

2.2 Clean gluing area on window using cleaner from repair kit and rub dry with rag..

When using a new window

3.1 Repair damaged primer layer on window with primer included in repair kit.

Only when using previously installed window.

Allow primer to air-dry for min. 10 minutes.

3.2 Apply activator from repair kit to gluing area on window and rub dry with rag.

When using a new window

4. Coat gluing area on window with primer included in repair kit (with max. 20 mm).

When using a new window.

Allow primer to air-dry for min. 10 minutes.

5. Fasten electrical connectors from inside or outside of window with adhesive tape, depending on version.
