"Parking Guidance Unavailable" Displayed in Instrument Cluster
If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles of "Parking Guidance unavailable" message in the instrument cluster after the transmission
software was updated, this may be caused by the new transmission control software submitting the information "no power in transmission position D".
The information is received by the radar sensor control unit (SGR); however it cannot be processed and therefore deactivates the Parking Guidance.
Associated fault code may be 7474 - CAN signal "target gear" from control unit Electronic transmission control is implausible.
To resolve, flash radar sensor control unit (SGR) with SDS version 02/2009 or later.
