SRS Light Illuminated
If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles of the SRS light being illuminated accompanied by either of the diagnostic fault codes listed
below, perform the following repair procedure.
Note:
Replacement of the contact spiral is not necessary for this repair procedure. Returned contact spirals will be subject to testing and may be debited if
found to be operational.
Fault Codes:
DTC 9200 - the resistance value in the ignition circuit containing component R12/13 is too high
DTC 9210 - the resistance value in the ignition circuit containing component R12/14 is too high
Note:
Short test printout from STAR Diagnosis required to be sent with returned connectors.
Procedure:
1.
Adjust driver seat and steering column all the way back.
2.
End internal on board electrical system functions.

Engage selector position 'P'

Switch off all electrical consumers
^
Turn transmitter key (A8/1) in EIS control unit (N73) to position '0'

Turn transmitter key (A8/1) in EIS control unit (N73) to position '2' and wait approximately 30 seconds
^
Turn transmitter key (A8/1) in EIS control unit (N73) to position '0' and leave in EIS unit (N73)

The internal on-board electrical functions are now ended. Refer to WIS AR54.10-P-0003-01SX.
3.
Disconnect both battery ground cables. Disconnect the starter battery first, followed by the system battery. Refer to WIS AR54.10-P-0003SX.
4.
Remove airbag unit from steering wheel. Refer to WIS document AR91.60-P-0660SX.
5.
Remove the steering wheel. Refer to WIS document AR46.10-P-0100SX.
