Exhaust System - Rear Exhaust Bracket Broken

Rear Cross Bracket of Exhaust System Broken

If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicle of the rear exhaust bracket being broken at the weld to the exhaust pipe, please perform the
following to resolve.

1.

Remove adjusting screw at elongated hole and remove broken part of bracket.

2.

Cut off the other end of the cross bracket that is still welded to the exhaust pipe (Figure 1).

Warning! 

Use protective equipment. Remove all sharp edges.

3.

Align repair bracket 85 mm (Figure 2, a) downstream from welding spots of old cross bracket.

4.

Tighten (tightening torque 30 Nm) repair cross bracket into place (Figure 2).

Note: 

When aligning please make sure that the end pipes are centered in the cut out of the rear apron by adjusting the exhaust pipes in the elongated holes
in the rear. The repair cross bracket can be installed slightly diagonal to help center the exhaust pipes in the cut out of the rear apron.
