Vario Roof Does Not Lock When Closing

If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles that the Vario roof (retractable hardtop) does not lock when closing, the cause may be either
the locking arm on the front section of the Vario roof is too high (Figure 1) or there is internal leaking in the left or right loading aid hydraulic cylinder
(Figure 2, Pos. 5).

To remedy the issue, perform the following.

1. Close Vario roof and open trunk lid.

2. Check the stop screws on left and right sides of roof mechanism (Figure 3, Pos. 2)
