Component Identification

Location

The pressure sensor is integrated into the seat surface of the front passenger seat.

Task

The pressure sensor determines the weight applied to the front passenger seat via a corresponding pressure measurement in a sensor mat filled with gel.

The Weight Sensing System (WSS) control unit (N110) then determines a category for the applied weight that corresponds to the determined value. This
assignment is used to record the occupation status on the front passenger seat.
