COMAND operating, display and controller unit (A40/3) activated via "ON" button

"Video" function key actuated

Appropriate data storage device present in DVD drive

General

The DVD drive of the COMAND controller unit supports playback of video DVDs. The video image is shown on the COMAND controller unit display,
after the "VIDEO" menu and the "DVD" submenu have been activated.

Operating instruction

The system can be operated using the:

Control buttons of the COMAND controller unit

Function sequence

The DVD player can be used to read out and decode DVD videos. The "DVD menu" and the "Title menu" are stored on the DVD. The audio signals on
vehicles with code (810) Sound system, are transferred via the Media Oriented System Transport (MOST) to the sound system amplifier (N40/3) where
they are amplified and then processed to match the stored tone settings.

The amplified and processed audio signals are output over direct lines to the following speakers:

Left door speaker group (H4/1)

-

Right door speaker group (H4/2)

-

Left rear speaker (H4/7)

-

Right rear speaker (H4/8)

-

Center cockpit speaker (centerfill) (H4/27)

-

Subwoofer speaker (H4/29)

The audio signal for the subwoofer speaker is routed from the amplifier for sound system over direct lines to the subwoofer amplifier (N40/9) and to the
subwoofer speaker.

On vehicles, except code (810) Sound system, audio output is accomplished over direct lines by the COMAND controller unit via the following
speakers:

Left door speaker group (H4/1)

-

Right door speaker group (H4/2)

-

Left rear speaker (H4/7)

-

Right rear speaker (H4/8)

The DVD Video picture is available up to a speed of <=5 km/ h. Only acoustic playback remains active while driving. For safety reasons, a warning is
shown on the display of the COMAND controller unit.
